BIM 2019-2022: Potential for the construction industry
Where are we going with BIM in the next three years? Forwards! Facts from the construction industry show how.
BIM offers economic potential. Some companies have recognized it. They rely on BIM - and are successful. For example, 75% of companies that rely on BIM have a positive ROI. New business models, digitalization of expertise, optimization and transparency of processes, etc. are the profits for companies.
Planners and other parties involved in construction also recognise the potential of BIM. For example, 69% of BIM planners report falling error costs. This saves valuable resources afterwards - costs and time. The BIM planning method has established itself in construction planning. However, BIM goes further, along the entire value chain of a property. The BIM model can be used from planning through construction to commissioning and beyond. The advantages are therefore numerous.
BIM also has ecological effects. Building materials can be more accurately calculated and ordered. Excess building materials - and thus their disposal - are thus reduced. Sustainability on several levels - economic, personnel and ecological.
